John D. Wiltz

John D. Wiltz, 74, a lifelong resident of Waymart, passed away on Saturday morning, August 6, 2022 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, after an extended illness. Born October 30, 1947 in Scranton, he was the son of the late John J. Wiltz and Edna L. (Munson) Wiltz. John was a graduate of Waymart High School. For many years, he worked at the former S.J. Bailey & Sons Inc. John went on to enjoy many years working in the Maintenance Department at Western Wayne School District prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. John looked forward to winter sports, especially snowmobiling with his friends. He will be remembered for his love of animals, and his fondness of helping on local farms during the haying season. John was a kind and thoughtful member of the community who will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his sister, Joanne W. Romance of Waymart; a nephew, Jeffrey Correll of Austin, TX; a niece, Jennifer Correll of Waymart; a great-nephew, Dustin Correll of Waymart; and several cousins. Private Graveside Services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Road, Honesdale, PA 18431. Arrangements are entrusted to Edward R.
