Wansley S. White

Wansley Stella Bishop White, 79, of Waymart went to be with the Lord, Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017 at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart. Born May 25, 1937 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine (Hiller) Bishop. Wansley loved spending time with her grandchildren, playing Bingo, shopping, going to yard sales, rummage sales, and penny socials. One of her favorite events to attend was the annual Pennsylvania Christmas and Gift Show at the State Farm Show Complex. In her youth, she was an avid and talented roller-skater. Wansley thoroughly enjoyed her time at Wayne Woodlands Manor and the wonderful staff there. She was known as the Mayor of the Peach Hall at Wayne Woodlands. Wansley loved people; folks were only strangers to her the first time they met. She was a truly special lady who was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by three children: Kathleen White and her husband Daniel of Endwell, New York, Richard White and his wife Nancy of Franklin, Connecticut, and Tom White and his wife Kelly of Waymart; also grandchildren, Daniel White, Sara Sonnekalb, and her husband Rob, Timothy White, Carli White, Amy White, Alicia Boguski, and her husband Joshua Boguski, and great grandchildren, Jordan and Hunter Sonnekalb and Braelynn Boguski; two sisters: Gertrude Loring of San Mateo, FL, and Arlene Rose of Beach Lake, PA. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Harland Bishop, William Bishop, Rose Schuman, Almeda Augello, Virginia Potter, and Adelaide Bishop. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. in Jenkins Funeral Home - Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Pastor Sal Maiorana officiating. Friends and family may call on Friday evening, April 28, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at The Waymart Church, 342 Honesdale Road, Waymart, PA 18472. The family wishes to offer their sincere thanks to the entire staff at Wayne Woodlands Manor for the kind and loving care given to Mom during her four years at WWM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wansley's memory to Wayne Woodlands Manor Staff Fund, c/o Marcy Podunajec, 37 Woodlands Drive, Waymart, PA 18472. Interment will be on Saturday in Indian Orchard Cemetery.
