Walter J. Hamlyn, Jr., 88, of Curtis Valley, Clinton Township, died Saturday morning, March 11, 2017 at Forest City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of more than 54 years, Ann Margaret (Shields) Hamlyn on January 19, 2015.
Born July 29, 1928 in Aldenville, he was the son of the late Walter J. Hamlyn, Sr. & Freda Pauline (Geuther) Hamlyn.
A lifelong resident of Clinton Township, Walter owned and operated the family farm with his wife; he loved the land and animals. Walter also worked for the Soil & Conservation Service. He was a thoughtful man who will be remembered for his gentle and kind personality. His family was very important to him. Walter will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by two children, David Hamlyn and his wife Darlene, and Debbie Tedesco and her husband Jimmie, all of Curtis Valley; three grandchildren, Josh Tedesco and his finance Ashley Wood, Ashley Moser and Jessica Moser and her fiancé Nicholas Bolock.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Clinton Center Cemetery in the spring.
