Theresa A. Carney

Theresa A. Carney, 82, of Waymart passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 22, 2017 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 28 years, Arthur Carney in 1980. Born July 13, 1935 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late George and Susan (Ort) Bauman. Theresa married Arthur in 1952.  She went on to work for many years at Waymart Knitwear prior to retirement.   Theresa was a wonderful mother and grandmother.  She will be remembered with love and forever missed. Theresa is survived by four children:  Arlene Warnock and her husband Tom, Daniel Carney and his wife Lori Olver-Carney, all of Waymart, Susan Seeley and her husband Richard of South Canaan, and Joyce Carey and her husband Brian Dixon of Waymart; a sister-in-law, Helen Bauman of Scranton; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Donald; and a brother, Joseph Bauman. In accordance with Theresa's wishes there will be no calling hours and services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fair Avenue, Honesdale.
