Rob Allen Olson, 54, of Clinton Township, Waymart, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love on Friday afternoon, July 12, 2024, at home. His beloved wife, Deborah A. Diamond-Olson survives him. They were married on April 14, 2023.

Born February 24, 1970 in Edina, Minnesota, he was the son of Robert H. Olson of Minnesota, and the late Joanne M. (Fabienke) Olson.

Shortly after Rob graduated high school, he enlisted in the military, Marine Corp, and served his country proudly bleeding Oorah, all the way! Semper Fi for life! Rob proudly defended his country in Operation Desert Storm and shortly after returned to Hawaii and fell in love with his beloved and cherished Rose.

Rob and Rose married and shared over 25 years of amazing times bringing themselves to Las Vegas, where Rob worked at some of the greatest Casinos around the Vegas strip. Throughout their travels, love for cruises, and the slots, Rob landed himself in Northeast PA to take on the role as Director of Surveillance at Mount Airy Casino Resort in 2017.

Rob was dedicated and committed to his skill and craft when it came to Surveillance and takes a pedigree with him like no other. Rob was always willing to share his knowledge with anyone willing to put in the effort and soak it all up. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his Surveillance team, Executive team, and coworkers.

Rob was a gentle giant, standing 6'5 and to some intimidating unless you got the joy and opportunity to really know him. He was a protector and nurturer when Rose took ill until her passing in 2021. Rob was uncertain on what was next, however, to his own surprise and those around him, Rob found utter love again with his "Baaby", Deb. Rob was blessed and grateful not to only have love once in his lifetime but to find it twice, he really hit the "jackpot".

Rob and Deb married and in the short period of time together shared some amazing moments of true and utter happiness that neither believed they would find again. Deb was his cheerleader, and he was her motivator. They truly shared and enjoyed everything together from chasing each other down the aisles of Wegmans to having an after-church Sunday breakfast. Together, they would be relaxing to the infamous binge watch of Netflix, catch of the Minnesota Vikings game, or a hockey game. Rob certainly believed his hockey talents would take him places on the rink. Unfortunately, it landed him in the ER from a spill on the ice. He hung up the skates but continued with his zest for life again. Rob and Deb renewed, recharged, and gave each other love again and it will forever be. Anyone who was around them felt and saw their love from their glances at each other to their silent conversations that only they understood. Their love for each other was deep and pure.

Rob will forever be missed by his closest and dearest family and friends. (The "eye" in the sky is always watching over you.) In his final journey, Rob was gifted with an amazing, compassionate, and true gift from God, having Compassionate Care of Scranton, Jennifer Megotz R.N. by his side and the amazing aide service of Crystal Pettis. Two truly special ladies that made Rob's journey and transition painless, comforting, and with the utmost respect. A sincere gratitude and appreciation is sent to his medical team at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono for the care they provided to Rob, Deb, Lianne and his family.

Rob is survived by his beautiful wife Deborah Diamond-Olson; his fur babies Miss Bella Rose, Jax, Misty, and Sebby, and his best friend and confidant, Lianne Asbury. He leaves behind his father, Robert, who will miss his weekly chats, a brother Scott Olson (Beth) and nephew, Kurt, who will continue to cherish their fond memories together as a family. Claudette and Samantha Skillin with little Maddox will continue to find peace in all the amazing moments shared together as he returns and is reunited to his beloved Rose.

Rob was predeceased by his loving and caring mother, Joanne Olson and his cherished wife of over 25 years Rose Olson in 2021. His furbabies, Bo-Bo and Tigs were there when he came home.
