Megan E. Wilcox, 46, of Calkins, peacefully passed away unexpectedly, due to natural causes on Sunday morning, March 7, 2021 at home.
Born February 17, 1975 in Honesdale, she was the beloved daughter of Dale L. and Cindy D. (Erhardt) Wilcox of Calkins, who both survive her.
Megan graduated from Honesdale High School and then went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Penn State University. Always hungry and curious for more knowledge, Megan also obtained her Master’s Degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
After traveling and living in Ohio and Texas, Megan returned and settled in Wayne County, where she felt she truly belonged. She spent the last seven years as the Office Manager at Keen Lake Campground, becoming a cherished part of the Keen family.
Megan was a beloved member of the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church where she was a part of the women’s ministry team. She also served as the youth leader during her time in Ohio. Her love for her God and Savior was second to none, and this was the driving force in her life.
Megan was an avid reader, and the only clutter in her house was that of her books. She was also a talented cook and baker, and if you were lucky enough to try her food, it was an experience you would never forget. She had a joy for music, loved to sing, and was talented with a variety of instruments. Megan doted on her nieces and nephews, and there was never a gift given that she hadn’t spent hours thinking about so it would be perfect.
She is also survived by her brothers and sister: Micah Wilcox, and his wife Tracy, Seth Wilcox, and his wife Libby, Sarai Weber, and her husband Eric; nieces and nephews Morgen and Demi Wilcox; Cassidy, Hannah, Ava, and Miles Wilcox; Aubree and Mariah Weber.
She was also preceded in death by her grandparents Albert and Mary Wilcox and Alfred and Joan Erhardt.
Due to the current health crisis, memorial services will be delayed, and held at a time to be announced in the near future.
Interment will be private, and held at the convenience of the family.
In honor of Megan, the family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church or the Calkins Cemetery Association.
Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
