MaeDean Whitmore

MaeDean Whitmore, 78, a resident of Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart, passed away on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2024. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Walter Herbert "Herbie" Whitmore, who passed away on March 29, 2013.

Born on April 2, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Jess B. Smith and Ruth Bowman Smith.

Dee graduated from the Berean Institute and was an ordained minister in the Assembly of God churches. Known for her kindness and caring nature, she consistently prioritized the needs of others. Dee's love for her family was profound, and she will be remembered for the selfless affection she shared with so many throughout her life.

Dee is survived by her son, John K. DarrenKamp Sr., and his partner, Christine Rechner, of Honesdale, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services, a private affair, will be held at the family's convenience. Interment will occur at Lakeview Cemetery in Jackson Township, Susquehanna County, PA.
