Leo J. Kerylovicz, 72, of Waymart passed away suddenly, after an illness on Saturday morning, December 3, 2022 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. His beloved wife of more than 52 years, the former Sarah J. Davis survives him. They were married on February 14, 1970.
Born February 17, 1950 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Sophie (Michalak) Kerylovicz.
Leo was a graduate of Waymart High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Leo faithfully served his country during Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his service. He worked for PennDOT for 33 years prior to his retirement. Leo enjoyed old cars and working on machinery and equipment. He loved spending time with his family and those he loved. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two daughters, Lori Ann Dolph and her husband Mark, and Renee Tallman and her husband Wade; and his son, Leo Kerylovicz and his wife Mary; eight grandchildren, Cody, Nathan, Tyler, Mark Jr., Matthew, Kacey, Kendra, and Lucas; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Mack; two sisters, Irene Lisi and her husband Dave, and Elaine VanSickle.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Kerylovicz.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. in the Howell Family Funeral Home, 269 Belmont St. Waymart, PA, Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will be on Thursday in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners.
