John C. Dolph, Jr., 61, of Dickson City died peacefully on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Forest City Nursing Center after an extended illness.
Born April 30, 1963 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late John C. and Lela (Tregaskis) Dolph.
John proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard for many years. He retired from Tobyhanna Army Depot where he was a lead technician. John enjoyed hunting and fishing in the great outdoors. He was also an avid bowler. Above all, John loved his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. John will be remembered for his fun sense of humor, and his outgoing personality that impacted so many lives.
He is survived by five children: Holly Alteus and her husband Frantz of Dickson City, Christina Dolph of Simpson, John Dolph of Simpson, Ashly Dolph of Waymart, and Bret Dolph of Waymart; eleven grandchildren: Abigail, Aaron, Jordan, Brooke, Kailey, Gianna, Mycah, Jaylin, Landon, Laela, and Lynnlee; his companion of many years, Barbara Foreit of Dickson City; four brothers, Michael Dolph and his wife Marjie, Mark Dolph and his wife Lori, William Dolph, Jeff Dolph; and a sister, Melissa Dolph; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large extended family.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. with Deacon Edward Kelly officiating in the Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc., Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
Friends and family may visit on Saturday from 4-6 PM at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania at a later date.
