Joanne F. Owens

Joanne F. Owens, 77, of South Canaan died Thursday morning, February 9, 2023 at home. Born March 18, 1945 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Anna M. (Barcak) Mica. Joanne was a retired hairdresser. Following the death of her husband, Leo Owens, Joanne enjoyed many years with her longtime companion Harry Wilson who survives her. She was a member of the Tobyhanna VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is also survived by two children: Scott Owens and wife Karen of Shaftsbury, VT, and Jeannine Freudenberg and husband Mark of Freeport, NY; four grandchildren: Michelle, Madison, Andrew, and Nicholas; Harry's children: Mary and husband Harry; Lori and husband Jerry; grandchildren: Rebecca, Joseph, Casey and wife Stephanie; and great-grandchild, Spencer. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be in Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY.
