Joan Bunting

Joan M. Bunting, 86, of Waymart, passed away Sunday morning, June 18, 2023 at Wayne Woodlands Manor after an extended illness. Her beloved husband, Clyde R. Bunting survives her.

Born June 17, 1937 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Jenny (Valinski) Ogozaly.

Joan graduated from high school in Carbondale and pursued her further education at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Carbondale and the Robert Packer School of Nursing in Sayre, PA. For many years, she worked at the Carbondale General Hospital where she was a Registered Nurse, primarily in the maternity department.

When she and Clyde married, Joan quickly learned to love farm life and made many happy memories there.

She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Waymart and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter No. 67. In retirement, Joan and Clyde enjoyed spending time in the company of friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike, Waymart, PA with Pastor Wendy D'Agostino officiating. All attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
