Jean Marie Chyle Anderson, 89, a resident at Bethany Village, formerly of Steene, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, November 12, 2021. The Chyle Family wants to extend their deepest gratitude to the staffs of Bethany Village and Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their loving care.
The daughter of the late Wilbert H. and Mary (Adams) Dakey, she was born in Archbald on April 9, 1932.
Jean graduated from Honesdale High School on June 13, 1950. The following year, on January 3, 1951, she married James H. Chyle Jr. James preceded her in death on August 20, 1977. She later married Kenneth Anderson on January 24, 1987 until his death on March 19, 1999. Jean was a member of the Prompton Community United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Laurel Chapter #67 Order of the Eastern Star in Waymart. Jean was a clerk in the Wayne County Courthouse for many years before retirement. She also enjoyed many years of round and square dancing with both Jim and Ken.
Jean is survived by two sons, William Chyle, and his wife Norita of State College, PA, and Jack Chyle, and his wife Ella of Cold Springs; grandchildren Anna Marie Chyle Costlow (David) Lauren Chyle, Nathaniel Chyle, Jessica Chyle Freidenstine (Brian), Jimmie Ann Chyle Fries (Max), Jason Chyle (Kyndra), Jacob Chyle (Ashley), Jackie Marie Chyle Cosgrove (Bryan), 13 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Marjorie Dakey of Steene.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Ruth Poloncic in 2007, and her brother Willard Dakey in 2014.
Graveside Funeral Services will be private for the family, in the Aldenville Cemetery with Pastor Wendy D'Agostino officiating.
