Jay Michael Musselman

Jay Michael Musselman, 65, of Waymart, South Canaan Township, died Thursday morning, January 23, 2025 at home. His wife, Doris (Hoover) Musselman survives him. 

Born December 20, 1959 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Michael was the son of Raymond S. and Joanne (Bollinger) Musselman of Richland, PA. 

Michael was a member of the Riverdale Mennonite Church where he served as the Deacon for the congregation. He and his family were involved in church outreach in Wayne County for many years before moving here permanently in 2011 from Myerstown, PA. Michael owned and operated the South Canaan Farm Market with his family; he was also a lifelong farmer.

He is also survived by six children, Esther M. Martin (Nathan) of Aylmer, ON, Canada, Curtis L. Musselman of Myerstown, PA, Evelyn M. Musselman of Waymart, PA, Conrad L. Musselman of Myerstown, PA, Erma M. Shertzer (Ivan) of Waymart, PA, and Clayton L. Musselman of Waymart, PA; four grandchildren; two brothers, David A. Musselman (Nettie) of Campobella, SC, and Daniel Musselman (Aimee) of Bethel, PA; and one sister, Ann Sensenig (Gary) of East Earl, PA.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Musselman; and a stillborn granddaughter.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Riverdale Mennonite Church, 15 Riverdale Road, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Forest City, PA 18421.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Riverdale Mennonite Church.

Interment will be in the Riverdale Mennonite Church Cemetery.
