James "Jimmy" Sinawa, 69, of Waymart passed away suddenly, after an illness on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born February 3, 1951 in Carbondale, he was the son of the late George H. and Clara E. (Kizer) Sinawa.
Jimmy was well known in Waymart for his big smile and happy wave around town. He enjoyed shoveling snow and mowing lawns. Jimmy was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to be in the great outdoors. He will be fondly remembered as a special brother and uncle in his family. Waymart will certainly be different without him; he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by a brother, Jack Sinawa of Waymart; and two sisters, Anna Silick of Scranton, and Margaret Bailey of Honesdale, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
Jimmy was also preceded in death by brothers: Rodney, George, Edward, David, and Harry Sr.; and two sisters, Clara May Murphy, and Mary Castle.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike. All attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
A one-hour viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 13, from 7-8 PM in the Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472. All attending are asked to keep their condolences brief, and to follow the CDC guidelines and social distancing.
