Inez (Gregg) Nolan, 100 years old, Aldenville, PA passed away suddenly, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Geisinger CMC. She was the widow of Gerald Nolan who passed away on February 15, 1974. They were married June 27, 1942.
Inez was born April 4, 1921 in Galilee, PA to Thomas Durham Gregg and Mary (Mamie) Loy Gregg. She was a graduate of Damascus High School, class of 1939.
She was employed in various garment factories in Honesdale, Hawley, and Waymart and also at a laundromat/dry cleaners in California for a year. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needlepoint until arthritis set in. She was a very independent, strong-willed person. You hardly ever heard her complain. She drove until the age of 98 and mowed lawn until the age of 96. She truly missed being able to be outside doing things.
Inez was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Aldenville Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Louis Nolan and companion, Serina Mitchell; daughter, Shirley Brown, and daughter-in-law, Leona Nolan; grandsons, Edward Nolan and wife Judy, James Nolan and wife Brenda, David Nolan and wife Janet, and Leroy Brown; great-grandchildren, Gina Nolan, Kyle Nolan, Shaun Nolan, and Evan Brown; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Nolan; son-in-law, Donald Brown; grandson, Randy Nolan; and sisters, Helen Bartolomeo and Ruth Sheard.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. Edward R. Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA with Pastor William Mountain officiating.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
Interment will be on Friday in St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery, Fair Avenue, Honesdale.
