Herbert Lee Peak, 73, of Pleasant Mount, PA, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. He is married to Gwen Perham Peak who survives him.
Herbie was born in Hancock, New York on February 13, 1948 and entered into the United States Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam. After the service, he was a truck driver across country until he retired. Herbie enjoyed golfing and most of all, being Poppy.
Herbie was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Mount Fire Hall; he was also a member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, and the Marie Corp League.
Herbie was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Geneva Mead Peak.
He is survived by his children, Shari Peak, Tanya (George) Hentschel, Lori (Chad) Sinawa, Lance (Nicole) Peak, and step-children, June Saul, Charles (Anna) Saul, Josh (Cassidy) Saul, Brad (Racheal) Saul, Cassie (Ben) Saul, and Morgan (Esther) Saul.
His world revolved around being a Poppy to Kaitlyn, Brady, Dominick, Alyssa, Devin, Arianna, Autumn, Ashley, Lance, Kyle, Raymond, Jackson, Audrey, Keygon, Aricha, Averey, Anderson, Myah, Wyatt, Helena, and Beau and great-grandson, Aiden.
Herbie is also survived by his siblings, Linda Peak, Allen Peak, and Doreen Peak Dubik.
He was also preceded in death by his favorite brother-in-law, Peter Dubik.
Memorial Services with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM, outdoors, at the home of his daughter, 2135 Creek Drive, Waymart, PA 18472.
