Gordon R. Hauenstein, 88 years old of Aldenville, Pa went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 19, 2017.
Gordon attended Clinton Center Baptist Church and was a devout Christian who had a strong faith and exemplified it throughout his life.
Born on the family farm in Creamton in 1928 where he lived his entire life, Gordon was the youngest of four sons born to David Sr. and Julia Hauenstein.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he was a dairy farmer for many years and also operated the family sawmill. Gordon worked in the woods with his father and brother David cutting and hauling logs to the sawmill to be sawed into props, which were then hauled to the mines in the valley during the hey day of mining coal.
Gordon was a skilled sawyer, woodsman and hunter.
Surviving is one brother, Delbert Hauenstein residing at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, David Jr. and Dwight.
Gordon will live on in our hearts and memories forever.
Viewing hour will be from 2 – 3 PM at the Aldenville Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 followed by the funeral services at 3:00 P.M. in the church.
Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery.
