Glenda M. Calie

Glenda M. Calie, 82, of Beach Lake, PA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at home. Her husband, Robert Allen Calie preceded her in death on June 20, 1974. Born February 17, 1939 in Suffern, New York, she was the daughter of the late George Albert Conklin and Jane Geraldine Wright. For many years, Glenda was a housekeeping supervisor at the Villa Roma in Callicoon, New York. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and knitting. Glenda was also an avid reader. Dedicated to family and community, she often helped at the IOU Thrift store in Callicoon. She enjoyed spending time with her best friend Julie Maxwell as they weathered the many ups & downs of life. More than anything, Glenda loved spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. Glenda is survived by seven children: Bryan Conklin, Lori Conklin Edwards and her husband Alan, Eugene Calie, Andrew Calie and his wife Debbie, Jeffrey Conklin, Katherine Kraft, and Kelly Lewis and her husband Matthew; many grandchildren & great-grandchildren; her sisters: Janet Dewitt & Carol Jordan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Allen Calie Jr.; a sister, Marion Schoonmaker; a brother, Stanley Conklin; & son-in-law, Andee Kraft. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church, 107 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, PA 18405. Friends and family may visit from 10-11 AM in the church on Thursday. Interment will follow in Callicoon Cemetery, Callicoon, New York. There will be a Celebration of her life at the Lookout Fire Hall in Lookout, PA, following the interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenda’s memory to the Beach Lake Free Methodist Church, 107 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, PA 18405.
