George M. Hobbs, 55, of Prompton, passed away peacefully after a sudden illness on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Geisinger Community Medical Center, surrounded by family and friends. His beloved wife of 32 years, the former Ruth A. Guarino survives him.
Born October 22, 1967 in Carbondale, he was the son of George J. Hobbs of Carbondale, and the late Carol Ann (Kulesa) Hobbs.
George was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and uncle. He was an avid outdoorsman and a jack of all trades. He was a proud member and treasurer of Cranberry Creek Hunting Club and Busch beer drinker.
When you became his friend, which there were many he would do anything for; but, in return, you were expected to answer the phone for that 2-hour phone call.
He will be missed by many but remember, “Just one more!” GMH
In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is also survived by his daughter, Hilary Georgetti and her husband Brandon of Pleasant Mount; and his son, Casey Hobbs of Pleasant Mount; three sisters, Maribeth Hunter and her husband Dan, Evie Turcotte and her husband Mark, and Colleen Tomaine, all of Carbondale; his mother-in-law, Betty Guarino of Prompton; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a date to be announced.
