Edward E. Hadden, 72, of Main Street, Forest City died Saturday night, November 4, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family at home, after an extended illness. His beloved wife, the former Jean J. (Archibald) Warring survives him. They were married May 27, 1995 in the Pleasant Mount United Methodist Church.
Born March 16, 1951 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late David E. Hadden Sr. and Evelyn (Eldred) Miller.
Edward was a truck driver for 40 years before he retired at age 60. He worked for both TRL and Prime Trucking. Many of Edward's happiest years were spent in Pleasant Mount on Clydesdale Farm with the best friends he had in life, Clyde and Mabel Eltz and Philip and Lisa Eltz and their families. Edward loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed square dancing and spending time with friends, family, and neighbors. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; most of all, he loved his wife Jean and could almost always be found at her side.
Edward is also survived by his children: Niomie Hadden, Michelle Sweeney and her husband Tim, David Hadden; and Jeanette Weaver and her husband Tony, and Sonja Warring and her companion Randy Taylor; twelve grandchildren: Jaimie, Gabrielle, Ashley, Alyssa, Timmy, Emma, Ally, Jessica, Wyatt, Violet, John, and Elizabeth; four great-grandchildren: Nora, Amiyah, Rae, and Luca; brothers and sisters: Patricia Jennings, Doris Brink, Judy Strand, Barbara DeGroat, Anna Masker, Margie Hubbard, Richard Miller, John Miller, Beverly Rutherford, Tammy Stegner, and Noma Miller.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Edward Thomas Hadden; and brothers, Julian Hadden, David Hadden, William Hadden, Gordon Miller, Jr. and Gordie Miller.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Pleasant Mount United Methodist Church, 383 Great Bend Turnpike, Pleasant Mount, PA 18453 with D. Ellis Dix officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edward's memory to Howell Family Funeral Home, Inc. P.O. Box 76, Waymart, PA 18472. Donations should include Edward's name in the memo and will be entirely directed to his family to help them at this difficult time.
