Dorothy R. Gregory

Dorothy R. Gregory, 92, of Bradenton Florida, formerly of Waymart passed away peacefully on Monday evening September 4, 2023 at her daughter's home in Honesdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard S. Gregory in 1997.

Born January 25, 1931 in Waymart, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Curtis) Faux.

Dorothy was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Waymart. She enjoyed participating in the Waymart Church services online.

Dorothy had the distinction of serving as one of the first teacher's aides at the Waymart School. Her enduring career continued at the Western Wayne School District in the Robert D. Wilson and Hamlin Elementary schools. She will also be remembered for her love of playing bingo and the many fun memories she made going to the casino with her son-in-law.

More than anything, Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She never missed a sporting event, dance recital, or any other activity they were involved in. Dorothy loved her family and friends in Florida and Wayne County, and made the most of all the time she could spend with all of her loved ones.

She is survived by her children: Roxane Kilgo (James) of Honesdale, Richelle Heck of Niceville, FL, Cheryl Fulkrod (Robert) of Honesdale, Linda Johnson of Bradenton, FL, Richard Gregory (Helga) of Pleasant Mount, and Leslie Gregory of Waymart; seven grandchildren: Michael Fulkrod of Honesdale, Jason Fulkrod of Honesdale, Aaron Kilgo (Lesley) of Bethany, Corrine Johnson of Forest City, Dr. Laura Shaffer (Blake) of Niceville, FL, Thomas Gregory (Wendy) of Pleasant Mount, and Brandi Gregory of Honesdale; eleven great-grandchildren: Chaz Fulkrod, K-Linn Fulkrod, Kamden Knecht, Jolene Fulkrod, Madeliene Shaffer, and Emmaleigh Shaffer; step-grandchildren: Kaylee Pirotrowski, Devine, Josiah, and Enazer Jenkins; many dear friends, including Margie of Florida.

In accordance with her wishes, following cremation, a Graveside Service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:30 A.M. in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners with Pastor Sal Maiorana officiating.  Everyone attending is asked to go directly to the cemetery.
