Diane J. Mead

Diane J. Mead, 65, of Lake Ariel, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at home. Her beloved husband of 38 years, James A. Mead survives her. Born October 12, 1956 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Grant Cornelius Harris and Helen Mabel (Luyster) Harris. Diane graduated from West Milford High School in New Jersey. Always a kind and caring person, she was a home health aide in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. For several years, Diane was a school bus driver for Paul and Alice Krombel whom she loved dearly. Later, she continued to work in healthcare for Allied Services until retirement. Above all, Diane was devoted to her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She always supported her children in all of their endeavors. Perhaps her most beloved role in life was that of grandmother; Diane was profoundly committed to her family. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. In addition to her husband James, she is survived by a daughter, Donna McElroy and her husband Kyle of Tobyhanna; and a son, Steven Carman and his wife Andrea of Germany; four grandchildren: Caleb Carman, Sophia Carman, Owen McElroy, and Noah McElroy; two brothers, Neil Harris, and Peter Westdyke; nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Jenkins-Howell Funeral Home, Inc. 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472 with Pastor Wendy D'Agostino officiating.
