Charles Anthony Yatsonsky, 86, of Waymart passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 15, 2025 at Livia Health and Senior Living in East Hanover, New Jersey.

Born July 30, 1938 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Alexander J. Yatsonsky and Josephine (Mican) Yatsonsky.

Following graduation from High School, Charlie served six years in the US Army Reserves. He later lived and worked in New Jersey for most of his life before moving back to Waymart on the family farm on Mican Road upon his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Waymart.

Charlie was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and hot rod drag racing. Charlie had an outgoing personality and enjoyed his friendships with others in the community. In his later years of life, he could often be found at The Waymart Deli where he kept up with the local happenings and looked forward to spending time with others. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.

Charlie is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Yatsonsky of Cedar Grove, NJ, and Michelle Hinderlong and her husband Bryon of Oak Ridge, NJ; two grandchildren, Nicole and Anthony Charles; and his two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Carter.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart, PA with Rev. Joseph Sitko and Deacon Edward Kelly officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charlie's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
