Catherine F. Miller

Catherine F. Miller, 72, of East Stroudsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024 at home following a brief illness. She is survived by her partner of 40 years, Jan F. White.

Born October 7, 1952 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Catherine (Carey) Miller.

Catherine grew up on the family farm in Canaan Township and was a graduate of Waymart High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in social work from East Stroudsburg University; following graduation, she lived in that area for the rest of her life.

Catherine worked at Pocono Medical Center for 42 years in mental health where her kind and loving personality touched countless lives. Catherine loved the ocean and all the beauty of the seaside. She was an avid sports enthusiast and especially enjoyed basketball. Catherine was always willing to help others and had a selfless heart of generosity. She sincerely cared about everyone she met. Catherine will be lovingly remembered by everyone who was blessed to have her in their lives.

She is also survived by her brother: James Miller and his wife Rose Mary of Honesdale; and four sisters: Mary Ann Miller, Carole Miller, Suzanne Rickard and her husband Rob all of Waymart, and Jackie Rickard and her husband Tim of Honesdale; she was a parent partner to 4 sons; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; she also leaves behind 11 nieces and nephews, 9 great-nieces and great-nephews; a brother-in-law, Lester Hazen; and a sister-in-law, Theresa Miller.

Catherine was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Francis Miller; and her sister, Marilyn Hazen.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Private services will be held for the immediate family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Catherine's memory to a local food pantry.
