BARBARA ANN GREEN BOGUSKI
Barbara Ann Green Boguski of Elk Lake, Waymart, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 after ashort illness. Born March 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. Green, and Lois M. Shellenburger. She was an honor student graduate of Waymart High School, Class of 1959. She was also an active member of the Cub Scouts, and the Girl Scouts.
Her bible, and Christian beliefs gave her comfort throughout her life. Barbara was an avid reader, and history buff, who also loved biographies, crossword puzzles, researching family genealogy, her beautiful flower gardens, collecting antique doll houses, and mowing her lawn. She was always available on short notice to bake a cake, cookies or cupcakes for any occasion. In her early years, she was an active member of the Civic Club, and Baptist Church. She was also a teacher’s aid at Aldenville School, and a founding member of the Waymart Historical Society. She retired from Gentex as a lab technician after twenty-seven years.
Her unconditional love for her family was unsurpassed. She was the epitome of a mother’s love. She is survived by her sons, John Jr., Scott (Mary), Dennis (Colleen), and Allen, her daughter Beth Ann Cortese (Rick), her brothers Jon, and Brian Green, her sisters Donna Vinton, and Emily Strausser, her brother-in-law John Vinton, and her sister-in-law Sylvia Green.
She was predeceased by her brother Edward Green, and her precious grandsons Scott Jr., Steven, and Arich Boguski.
A proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews. Also, special neighbors Harriet, and Chuck Bayly, and her poodle Jacob. The family wishes to thank Jennica Kerylovicz, and Cynthia Hazen for their wonderful care.
Per Barbara's wishes, there will be no viewing.
Following cremation, a Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM in The Waymart Cemetery at Canaan Corners, Owego Turnpike, Waymart, PA with Pastor Sal Maiorana officiating. All attending are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
