Ann Booth, 90, of Waymart died Sunday morning, February 12, 2017 at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Booth Sr. in 1995.
Born July 1, 1926 in Simpson, she was the daughter of the late Bart and Mary Shefsky. Ann was a member of St. Mary's Church in Waymart. She was a graduate of Fell Township High School, Simpson. Ann was employed and retired from Katz Underwear Factory in Honesdale.
Ann was a kind, loving, caring, and cherished mother, sister, and aunt who enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, sewing, spending time with her family, and taking care of her cats; especially her favorite, Whiskers.
Surviving are her two children, son Joseph Booth Jr. of Waymart; daughter Rosalie Booth Krastek, and son-in-law, Ronald Krastek of Greenfield Township; a sister Rose Bavun of Simpson; a few cousins, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews; and a very dear friend Mary Roberts.
Ann loved being well-informed and thoroughly read her daily newspapers. She and her husband built one of the very first ranch style homes in Waymart and lived there all their lives. Ann will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Church, 242 Carbondale Road, Waymart with Rev. Joseph Sitko, pastor officiating. All attending are asked to go directly to the church.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Jenkins Funeral Home, Edward Howell, Funeral Director, 269 Belmont Street, Waymart, PA 18472.
Interment will be private in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery, Greenfield Township.
