Andrew T. Fox, 72, of Moran, Wyoming, formerly of Waymart, PA, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday afternoon, January 5, 2022 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale.
Born February 20, 1949 in Carbondale, PA, he was the son of the late Louis Peter Fox Sr. and Margaret H. (Graytock) Fox.
Andy graduated from Waymart High School in 1967. Following graduation, Andy served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to study at Drexel University where he earned a degree in electrical engineering. Andy returned to Wayne County and owned and operated a television repair business and enjoyed many years servicing televisions for families in the Waymart and South Canaan area. He later worked for the Pennsylvania State Police at Honesdale where he was a dispatcher for more than ten years.
Andy pursued a lifelong interest in aviation, and trained in Texas to become a pilot. He, along with three of his brothers, operated a private airstrip at the family farm in South Canaan where they enjoyed flying small planes around the countryside for many years. He later realized a lifelong dream and trained to become a commercial airline pilot for USAir. For the last 17 years of his life, Andy had the privilege of residing near Jackson, Wyoming where he thoroughly enjoyed many wonderful friendships at Togwotee Mountain Lodge; Andy was the maintenance supervisor at the lodge for the past 17 years. He was lucky to have his brother and family visit him there just this past year. He was blessed to return home to spend time with his family through this Christmas season, and although he planned to fly back to Wyoming this week, the Lord called him home while he was with his loving family. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by brothers and sisters: Louis P. Fox, Jr. and his wife Peggy, Ann Janezic Busar and her husband Earl, Joseph Fox and his wife Angie, Thomas Fox and his wife Joyce, Samuel Fox and his wife Gail, John Fox, and Margaret Fox-Dougherty and her husband Paul; many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends including his Togwotee Mountain Lodge family.
