Shelvie J. Shaffer

Shelvie J. Shaffer, 84, of South Canaan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, October 13, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after an illness. Her beloved husband, James A. Shaffer, Sr. preceded her in death on April 11, 2018. Born on December 19, 1936 in Lake Ariel, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Brown) Savitz. She is survived by her son, Harry Shaffer and his wife Nancy of South Canaan; 3 granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons, 2 great-granddaughters; her sister Irma Sheard; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large extended family. She was also preceded in death by three children: Brenda Kay Shaffer, Jean Marie Shaffer, and James A. Shaffer, Jr; brothers, Donald "Willie", Onley, and Clarence Savitz; and a sister, Bertha Swingle. Following cremation, Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the South Canaan Bible Protestant Cemetery, Easton Turnpike, South Canaan.
