Lee K. Anderson, 83 of Equinunk went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday afternoon, February 27, 2023 at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. His beloved wife Barbara was at his bedside.
Lee and the former Barbara A. Burke were married in 1992, thirty years ago.
Lee was born February 12, 1940 in Cornwall, NY. He was the son of the late Edward Anderson and Mary (O'Neill) Diamond.
Lee was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He served in 1957-1959 and received his Honorable Discharge. He worked as a general contractor and worked at construction most of his life. In later years, Lee was a member of the DAV both in NY and PA. He served as Commander for 6 years with the PA Chapter #114 and was honored to serve the men and community of our area.
Lee was an Evangelist and his desire was that all he met would come to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in a very personal way. He served as Minister at two nursing homes in his local area once a month for 17 years. Lee's joy was to explain the gospel and to pray for the needs of each of the residents who attended the service.
Lee was of tall in stature and full of life. He was full of kindness for anything that had breath. He loved each of his beloved dogs and cats and had a passion to try and save God's creatures as he came across one in trouble.
In earlier years, Lee was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed Harleys the most and the biker crowd that came with the Harleys.
Lee had a passion for gardening and spent days planting and growing the beauty of trees and flowers.
Lee found comfort and peace when he attended and then joined Calkins Baptist Church some years ago. He considered the people there as his family church.
In addition to his wife, Lee is also survived by his brother, Edward Anderson of NY State and four children: Mary Devine of Kansas, Lee K. Anderson of Kentucky, Judith Friedle of W. Virginia, and Justine Eisloeffel of New York.
