Francis A. Salak

Francis A. Salak, 77, of Waymart, died Wednesday afternoon, February 28, 2018 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale PA.  He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Salak who passed away on August 29, 2017.

Born July 30, 1940 in Waymart, he was the son of the late William Salak Sr. and Mary (Davitt) Salak. 

He graduated from Waymart High School.  He served in the Army and worked for PennDOT.

Frank was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Waymart.  He loved to fish, hunt, garden and ride his tractor around his property.

He is survived by three children:  Sharon Scarangelli and her husband Anthony of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Michael Salak and his wife Dina of Greenville, SC, and Gary Salak and his wife Maria of Roaring Brook Twp., PA, seven grandchildren:  Dominic, Gianna, Nicholas, Hanan May, Noah, Parri and Ella.  He is preceded in death by his brother William and is survived by brothers Donald and wife Christine, Paul and wife Patricia and Josephine(William).

The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 242 Carbondale Rd. Waymart. 

Friends and family may call on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 12:00 -1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Church 242 Carbondale Rd Waymart.

Burial will be private in St. Catherine's Cemetery, Moscow at a later date.
